About the event
This challenging and adventurous hike is roughly 24 miles through the biggest canyon in the world. Gaining over 5,000ft in elevation, completing this hike will be a great accomplishment for any avid hiker. The hike begins before dawn and continues to switchback through the tree-line, requiring hikers to be alert through the dark. Temperatures will always vary - warmer down inside the canyon compared to the rim of the Grand Canyon.
Hiking down, through, and back up this canyon requires strong cardiovascular and fitness levels. Proper exercise in preparation for this hike is recommended. Strong cardiovascular and strength training will improve stability, balance and endurance that will ultimately allow you to have the most enjoyable experience.
